We are connecting sensors and compiling data on the cloud with access and control from a web browser connected to the Internet anywhere in the world:
The tractor has a PTO which accepts many attachments such as a tiller, snow blower, flail mower, power plow, and portable generator. The controller connects as an IoT device on the Internet through local Wifi or a cellphone data connection. There are several sensor options such as Lidar, radar, a video camera, ultrasonic ranging, a compass, an accelerometer, a gyroscope, etc. GPS is at RTK accuracy (typically better than 3 cm). The controller software runs as a web application and can be used through a web browser (commonly Google Chrome) anywhere in the world with an Internet connection.
Navigation of autonomous vehicles is not new. What we at 3dB Cloud LLC are doing doing is implementing autonomous navigation and control of an Internet of Things (IoT) device on the cloud for a cost effective tractor. Since the tractor is an IoT device, it can be be operated anywhere Internet service can be established, and it can be monitored and controlled from any browser anywhere in the world. Here is an early peek of what we have done. We are continually improving the navigation website and adding real time video:
Robert Scobles stopped by our facility to see what we are doing. In the age of instant media he posted a video of our autonomous IoT tractor on his blog:
